Babe and Lucky are both strong field bred dogs with a long line of great field dogs behind them. They are birdy, stylish, focused hunters who possess enormous natural intelligence and ability. Babe has an especially hot nose for pheasants and can run like the wind when in pursuit of scent. Lucky will go all day long in the field, always ready for one more bird and retrieve. He is also a great problem solver and he is a bit infamous around here for his ability to open all of the gates and latches at the kennel!
Babe and Lucky are both sired by talented dogs who have each earned FC and AFC as well as FDHF (Field Dog Hall of Fame). Pups from previous Babe litters have gone on to compete successfully in several venues. Babe and Lucky are strong swimmers and love the water! Puppies from this litter will be equally well-suited for upland birds or waterfowl. Lucky's grandsire FC AFC OTCH Topbrass Ascending Elijah OS FDHF, was the first golden retriever to earn an OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion) in addition to earning a FC and AFC. Talent galore in this litter for whatever venue you choose.
Both litter parents are also well-loved family pets and live easily in the house. They are wonderful all-around goldens! Babe is a medium gold with a silky, non-matting coat. Lucky is dark gold with a correct field coat as well. We expect puppies that will be medium to dark gold in color with flat field coats.
Puppy price is $1800. A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to reserve a puppy. All puppies are sold with Limited Registration. Limited Registration means that the puppy is registered, but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. This AKC procedure helps to protect established breeding programs. If the puppy buyer has the intention to breed their pup, our breeding contract then applies and is fully binding. Puppies are generally ready to go to their new homes at approximately 7 - 8 weeks of age.
